Ondas and Palantir Form Regna AI to Fine-Tune Sovereign AI Models for Government Customers
U.S. autonomous-systems provider Ondas (Nasdaq: ONDS) and Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) announced on October 12 the formation of Regna AI, a standalone private company powered by Palantir and bootstrapped by Ondas, initially wholly owned by Ondas. The company develops and deploys mission-specialized fine-tuned AI models inside customers' own sovereign environments for governments, businesses, and institutions.

What happened
According to the joint release issued October 12, Regna AI is a standalone private company, powered by Palantir and bootstrapped by Ondas, initially wholly owned by Ondas, with plans to scale alongside institutional partners. Ondas will serve as Regna AI's first customer, deploying fine-tuned models for autonomous mission orchestration at the edge.
Regna AI's models are designed for deployment within customer environments and on edge hardware, including ISR systems such as drones, stratospheric balloons, ground vehicles, and surface vessels, as well as command-and-control nodes, supporting operations in denied, degraded, intermittent, or limited (DDIL) connectivity conditions. The models help operators assess evidence, compare options, and propose mission-plan updates for human review and authorization.
No government should have to build its AI strategy on models or data infrastructure it does not control.
— Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas
Sovereign AI, trained on mission knowledge and tradecraft, outperforms frontier models while removing dependence on them.
— Alex Karp, Co-Founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies
Key facts
- Structure: a standalone private company, powered by Palantir and bootstrapped by Ondas, initially wholly owned by Ondas, expected to scale with institutional partners.
- Platform: built on Palantir's AIP; Palantir provides model-training infrastructure and delivery support, with forward-deployed engineering tailored to customer workflows.
- Prior work: builds on the Ondas–Palantir SkyWeaver C4I collaboration, an open-architecture layered-surveillance capability from the stratosphere to the tactical edge with embedded agentic AI.
- Timeline: initial customer deployments expected over the coming months; expansion planned from ISR into additional mission areas and into security, critical-infrastructure, and industrial markets.
Why it matters
Palantir is turning AIP into a sovereign-AI product line via a standalone company for the first time, with Ondas bootstrapping it as the first customer and initial deployments expected within months.
