Tencent Releases Full Hy4 With Vision and Computer-Use Capabilities
Tencent released the full version of Hy4 on November 4, adding native visual understanding and computer-use capabilities, with hosted access through Tencent Cloud, OpenRouter and Tencent products, while model weights and a full system card are to follow.

What happened
Hosted access and product integration come before the weights release: after the full Hy4 launch on November 4, developers can call the model through Tencent Cloud TokenHub and OpenRouter, and Tencent products WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy, Yuanbao and ima have integrated it. The August Hy4 preview was released open-source, while the full version is first offered as a hosted service, with weights and a system card listed as later releases.
The new capabilities cover visual understanding and computer use: Tencent says Hy4 can interpret fine-grained image details and complex charts, reason across multiple images, and operate command-line tools and graphical interfaces. Targeted training covers professional software such as Blender and CAD, plus long multi-application workflows, with development focused on office tasks, financial analysis and game development, and product teams involved in curating training data and evaluating against real workflows.
Cybersecurity data in training was limited: Tencent says training limited cybersecurity data to defensive proof-of-concept generation and vulnerability patching, filtering exploit development, reverse engineering and penetration-testing material. Tencent Xuanwu Lab and Tencent Keen Security Lab conducted red-team audits, and the company reports no elevated risk in reversing cryptographic algorithms, defeating binary obfuscation or exploiting vulnerabilities. A lower-cost Hy4 Flash version is to follow.
Key facts
- Release: November 4, 2026, Tencent releases the full Hy4 version, adding native visual understanding and computer-use capabilities
- Preview specifications: the August preview had 770 billion total parameters, 49 billion active parameters and a 1M-token context window
- Access: Tencent Cloud TokenHub, OpenRouter, and WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy, Yuanbao and ima
- API pricing: unchanged from the preview, $0.834 per million input tokens, $2.501 per million output tokens, $0.042 per million cached input tokens
- Offers: 50% off on Tencent Cloud TokenHub through December 31, and a limited free quota on WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy from November 4 to 15
- Later releases: model weights and a full system card are to follow, along with a Hy4 Flash version
- Internal evaluation: Tencent says hallucination rates in internal search evaluations fell from 15.76% in the preview to 5.45%
Why it matters
the full version extends the August preview from a text-only model to one that can read images and operate a computer, and once the weights follow, developers can deploy the same model outside Tencent Cloud.
