OpenAI Doubles Pro and Business Premium Usage Limits, Cancels Planned Pro 200 Cut
OpenAI announced on Oct 29 that Work and Codex usage limits for ChatGPT Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500 and Business Premium double with immediate effect at unchanged prices, while the planned allowance reduction for Pro 200 subscribers is cancelled.

What happened
The change was announced on Oct 29 on X by Tibo Sottiaux, who leads Codex and ChatGPT Work, and OpenAI said it responds to customer feedback; the doubling takes effect immediately, eligible subscribers receive the higher limits without any action, and subscription prices for the Pro tiers and Business Premium are unchanged.
The cancelled reduction had targeted Pro 200 subscribers: OpenAI had planned to cut the included Work and Codex allowance for Pro 200 from 20 times the Plus allowance to 10 times after Oct 29, and to cut GPT-6 Pro chat messages from 200 to 100 per week; with the plan cancelled, Pro 200 subscribers keep their previous Work and Codex allowance, which is also doubled.
The scope has clear boundaries: the doubling covers the shared Work and Codex allowance, the weekly GPT-6 Pro message cap in regular Chat is unchanged, and ChatGPT Plus limits are unchanged; extended limits for Dots, the always-on assistants, continue, with Dots usage metered separately from the default Work and Codex allowance; OpenAI has not published exact numerical limits for each tier.
